GRIP: A New Procurement Model at GracoRoberts

Written by GracoRoberts | Apr 23, 2026 10:57:56 AM

Effective May 5, GracoRoberts introduced GRIP (GracoRoberts Integrated Procurement). This change brings the former Sourcing and Purchasing teams together into one team.

The goal of GRIP is to make buying simpler, improve accountability, and help teams get faster support—without changing the level of service our business, customers, or suppliers receive.

What This Means for the Company

With GRIP in place, procurement now works as one integrated group with clear ownership and better support.

  • Each supplier now has one Buyer who is responsible from start to finish, including sourcing, orders, and supplier performance.
  • Administrative and compliance tasks are handled by support roles, so Buyers can spend more time working with suppliers and responding to business needs.
  • Fast support is still available for urgent situations, such as Aircraft on Ground (AOG) needs.
  • There is no reduction in force.
  • There is no disruption to Sales, Operations, Account Services, customers, or suppliers.
  • Support for urgent and critical needs continues without interruption.

What Is Not Changing

This update does not impact staffing or service levels.

Why This Matters

By combining sourcing and purchasing into one team, GRIP reduces handoffs, improves consistency, and strengthens relationships with suppliers. This helps the company work more smoothly and respond faster when it matters.
