Marketplace Update

Over the past month, the Marketplace project has continued to gain meaningful traction across all business units. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, the level of coordination, detail, and collaboration reflects the scale and importance of what we are building together.

Marketplace brings our inventory together in one place, so customers have a smooth buying experience across all of our businesses. Several teams are working at the same time to make this happen, including Product, Operations, IT, Data, and Commercial.

Key Focus Areas

1. Product & Data Alignment

Teams have been working on mapping products, so we can match similar items across our business units. This includes checking product descriptions, using the same data standards, and clearly noting why each product is mapped the way it is to help us grow in the future.

2. Spec Management & Governance

We’ve made good progress on deciding who is responsible for managing product specifications and how this work should be governed. Teams are now cleaning and checking data to get everything ready for testing and to support long‑term success.

3. Development & Integration

Our development teams are continuing to build the main parts of the integration, including how the storefront works and how customers add items to their basket. These features depend on accurate data, strong governance, and good teamwork across all business units.

Marketplace is a large project that needs our systems, processes, and teams to work closely together. Workshops, reviews, and regular check‑ins are now part of our weekly routine.

The hard work happening behind the scenes shows how important it is to get this right. Every team depends on the others, and each person plays a key role in building a Marketplace that can grow and work well for the long-term.

What's Next

As we move into the next phase, we will focus on finishing our data checks, moving forward with key development work, strengthening how business units manage changes, and getting ready for structured testing.
