Momentive Documentation Issue: What You Need to Know

Many of our companies across the GracoRoberts family of brands have been working closely with our Supply Chain teams and supplier partner, Momentive, following the issuance of a Notice of Escape (NOE) related to documentation discrepancies affecting select Momentive products.

Because Momentive products are an important part of our portfolio and are supplied across multiple brands within our organization, this issue impacted several areas of the business. As our teams continue supporting customers through the resolution process, here's a summary of what happened, where we are now, and what you need to know.

What Was the Issue?

Momentive identified an error in the Certificates of Analysis (COAs) accompanying certain products. Specifically, some COAs contained incorrect production dates and use-by dates (DOE).

Importantly, this issue relates to documentation accuracy, not product quality. Momentive confirmed the discrepancy is limited to information published on the COAs. In many cases, the product itself remains fully conforming and suitable for use, provided the corrected use-by date has not been reached or exceeded.

Why Does This Matter?

Many of the industries we serve require complete and accurate quality documentation to support traceability, compliance, and customer approval processes.

Even when product quality is unaffected, inaccurate documentation can create challenges for customers whose quality systems require precise records before material can be accepted or released for use.

What Action Did We Take?

Upon learning of the issue, our teams across the business:

  • Notified impacted customers.
  • Collaborated with our Supply Chain teams and Momentive to secure corrected COAs.
  • Reviewed documentation and traceability requirements.
  • Established processes to provide customers with corrected documentation and any supporting compliance records required by their quality systems.

Our goal has been to ensure customers have the accurate documentation needed to maintain compliance, traceability, and confidence in their supply chain.

Where Are We Now?

We have now begun receiving corrected COAs from Momentive.

As documentation is received, it is being reviewed and processed before distribution to affected customers across our brands. Due to the volume of products, shipments, and customers involved, corrected documentation is being issued on a rolling basis.

Customers with urgent documentation needs should continue working with their Account Specialist so requests may be prioritized where possible.

What Did We Learn?

This event reinforced the importance of accurate documentation, strong supplier partnerships, and proactive customer communication. While the issue did not impact product quality, it highlighted the critical role documentation plays in supporting customer compliance and traceability requirements. Documentation accuracy is essential to our customers' operations and quality systems.

Thank you to everyone across our brands who has contributed to this effort. Your collaboration, responsiveness, and commitment to customer success have helped ensure a smooth and professional resolution for our customers.
