Safety Note: Enhancing Our Safety - First Aid/CPR/AED Training Completed
As part of our ongoing commitment to Workplace Safety, over the past two months, several employees from each of the U.S. sites have participated in hands-on training led by the American Red Cross. During the 4-hour training session, participants were exposed to real life scenarios to help recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies.
The training focused on various topics and provided valuable skills:
- How to recognize an emergency
- How to prioritize care for injuries and sudden illnesses
- Recognize the signals of a cardiac emergency
- How to perform CPR
- Recognize the signals of a breathing emergency
- How to use an AED
- Identify the signals of common sudden illnesses
- How to control external bleeding
Benefits of training:
- Reduced Risks – having trained personnel at each of our sites, can minimize the severity of injuries and illnesses, and potentially save lives.
- Workplace Preparedness – the additional training received, allows for us to expand our emergency preparedness, by being able to handle minor injuries and various medical emergencies.
- Individual Preparedness – trained employees have the skills to respond effectively in emergencies. All participants received a certification valid for 2 years from the date the course was completed.
