Safety Awareness and Communication

Safety starts with awareness and early communication. Recognizing and reporting potential unsafe conditions or behaviors gives us the opportunity to evaluate concerns and take action before they result in an injury, property damage, or other incident. Everyone has a role in safety. By staying alert, following safe work practices, and communicating concerns early, we can work together to identify opportunities for improvement and help maintain a safer workplace.

Recognize

Stay alert and recognize potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or behaviors that could lead to an incident.

Report

Report safety concerns promptly to your supervisor, manager, People Services, or EHS.

Prevent

Raise concerns early. Address hazards promptly. Reduce risk by preventing incidents before they happen.

What Should You Report?

Examples of Unsafe Conditions

• Unstable or improperly stored materials.

• Spills, leaks, or housekeeping concerns.

• Damaged tools, racking or workplace equipment.

• Blocked walkways, exits, or trip hazards.

• Any condition that could potentially cause an injury or incident.

Examples of Unsafe Behaviors

• Using tools, equipment, or machinery in an unsafe manner.

• Improper lifing, handling or movement of materials.

• Bypassing or not using required safety procedures.

• Performing a task in a manner that could potentially result in an injury or incident.
