Safety Update- Incident Reporting
Maintaining a safe workplace requires prompt reporting and handling of all incidents. The following guidelines outline expectations for reporting work-related injuries, incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to ensure timely response and prevention of future incidents.
If an incident happens
- Get first-aid or medical help immediately.
- Call emergency services for serious injuries.
- Notify your supervisor right away.
Delays can worsen outcomes. Do not “wait and see” if something is serious.
Reporting
- All incidents must be reported within 24 hours.
- Report all injuries, incidents, illnesses, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete incident statement forms and submit to manager, People Services and EHS via IncidentReport@gracoroberts.com , CC Maggie Mendoza and Niki Townsend.
- For incidents at our UK site, Silmid please report to Tony Smith - tony.smith@silmid.com
Employee Responsibilities
- Report incidents immediately.
- Complete Incident Statement Form with clear and accurate details.
- Attend designated medical clinic, as necessary.
- Cooperate with follow-up questions or investigations.
- Maintain communication with supervisor/manager.
Manager Responsibilities
- Ensure medical attention is provided.
- Secure the area to prevent further risk.
- Complete required reports.
- Gather witness statements.
- Submit documentation within 24 hours.
- Maintain communication with employee, People Services & EHS.
After the incident
Monitor employee recovery and status.- Do not promise outcomes related to workers’ compensation, modified duty, or time off.
