Summary of 2025 Safety Topics

Throughout the year, we’ve shared important safety topics, tips and reminders focused on increasing awareness, preventing incidents, and reducing risk. This summary highlights key safety messages from the past twelve months and reinforces our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. As we move into the new year, our focus is to continue to build on these efforts and reinforce safe work practices.

Summary of 2025 Safety Topics

  • Ladder Safety: Use the right ladder for the job and inspect before and after use.
  • Safety Policy: Our safety policy released in March, reinforces safety as a priority for the organization, and a fundamental step in getting all employees to commit to workplace safety. A copy of the policy is included as part of the new hire eSafety training, under course Commitment to Safety and can be found in Intelex under EHS-4002A.
  • Maintaining a Clean Workplace: Keeping an organized and clean workplace is an ongoing operation. Adopting housekeeping  habits in your daily routines improves productivity, helps maintain working areas free of hazards and reduces the risk of an injury.
  • Hazard Recognition: Identifying workplace hazards is the first step in preventing injuries and incidents in any working environment. Whether they are physical or ergonomic hazards, recognizing these conditions is key in implementing controls and minimizing risks.
  • Personnel Coverage Risks: Personnel changes introduce safety challenges like knowledge and training gaps, increased risk of human error, and a breakdown in communication. By being proactive, providing clear direction, job specific training, and avoiding complacency, it can help mitigating these risks.
  • Workplace Violence Prevention: Employees play an integral role in preventing workplace violence. Utilizing de-escalation techniques, recognizing warning signs,  and maintaining open communication can be used when confronted with a potential situation.
  • Prioritizing Safety: Making safe choices at work goes beyond preventing incidents. It is also about contributing to the safety of others. By following established processes and work instructions, using the proper equipment and PPE, and reporting hazards promptly, we all contribute to maintaining a safe working everyone for everyone.
